Global Creative Leadership Summit
New York 13-15 November 2006
This by-invitation-only event was destined to be one of the highlights of 2006 and it did not disappoint. Tony joined an illustrious list of attendees, too long to name here but they included Henry Kissinger, a host of Nobel Laureates and key figures from a wide range of fields: Art; Science; Media; Education; Politics; Religion; and Economics. If you would like to look at www.creativeleadershipsummit.org, you will be able to see a film clip from the first day and full programme details.
One of the recurring themes of the summit was that a major emphasis
must be placed on empowering the creative intelligences of children for the future.
In Tony’s spotlight session, Creativity and Nations – Mexico, a Case Study, he addressed the audience about how Mind Maps and Mental Literacy are the prime tools in developing creative communications and leadership within governments. Tony then introduced Juan Carlos Murillo, Director of the Department for Creativity and Innovation in Mexico who spoke of his Government’s experience. Juan Carlos was personally appointed to his position by President Vincente Fox. He emphasised how the Government had managed its campaigns and policy making decisions, along with its national and international communications using Mind Maps. The present Government is currently utilising a Mind Map to manage its transition from one six-year period of government to the next.
Tony joined the panel for two further discussions:
