Welcome to Buzan Books.  Here is a summary of Tony Buzan’s books which we hope will prove informative.  Every book is available for purchase on this site.

1971 - Tony wrote two brief books as an introduction to Memory and Speed Reading.   The first non-fiction books were entitled Use Your Memory and Speed Reading.

1973  - The BBC asked Tony to do a ten-part series called Use Your Head and produced a book to accompany the series.   Use Your Head became the “mother-ship” that led the BBC to publish, from 1974 through to 1995, The Mind Set.   The Mind Set included Use Your Head, its chapter on memory leading to a fully updated Use Your Memory and its advanced memory book, Master Your Memory. The chapter on speed reading evolved into the comprehensive and encyclopaedic Speed Reading Book, and the chapter on note-taking evolved into the international best-seller from the BBC on Mind Mapping, The Mind Map Book written with Tony’s brother, Barry Buzan, Professor of International Relations at the London School of Economics. The final chapter on Buzan’s Organic Study Technique later evolved into the BBC’s The Buzan Study Skills Handbook.

2000 - At the beginning of the 21st Century, Harper Collins also began to launch a new series of books by Tony Buzan, commencing with Head First. Head First dealt with the ten different multiple intelligences, and explained how to understand, check and development.  As Use Your Head was for the BBC, so Head First for Harper Collins was the mother-ship for the Power of Intelligence series including The Power of Creative Intelligence, The Power of Physical Intelligence, The Power of Social Intelligence, The Power of Spiritual Intelligence and The Power of Verbal Intelligence.

As a result of the success of this series, Harper Collins produced a book on physical health and well-being, Head Strong, a further book on how to Age Proof Your Brain, and a book linking the mental and physical arenas discussing both physical and mental Mind Maps, The Ultimate Book of Mind Maps. Inspired by this success, Thorsons Collins launched into the children’s area, publishing Brain Child, a book for parents on how to bring up smart kids, and a series for children themselves, Mind Maps for Kids an Introduction, Mind Maps for Kids Max Your Memory and Concentration, and Mind Maps for Kids Study Skills.

Inspired by all these successes, Collins language won the bidding for Tony’s new language learning with Mind Maps.   In March 2008, Beginner Spanish, French and Italian were published and were so successful, that exactly one year later the three new Beginner Plus courses in the same languages were published.

In 2010 more than ten new books/literary/learning products are being launched.
